XML Ball cannon

Just to update what i created yesterday with the random ball cannon i created. This update is related to an online feed, so for each entry available in the feed, a ball is created randomly and projected onto the stage containing a snipet of the data. Once clicked the ball returns the data from the loaded feed into a text box below. I ran out of time to do this so obviously there are numerous oppertunities to what this mechanic can do(video/images/comments). I’m going to carry on developing this to make a visually pleasing, interactive comment reader for one of the platforms on Switch. have a look below, or if you want to playa bit, check it out here*

Dynamic comment Ballons

* If there are no balls or few ball present, this is because the feed is fresh or not available anymore.

A few months back I had a massive erge to do some painting and some stencils.

I’ve been looking for a nice visual effect for my new portfolio re-launch and thus far have been unsuccessful. But I started thinking about websites/advents/videos/art styles and how I could add them in a slightly changed may to my website. The first thing I thought of was the Bouncy ball Sony Bravia advert by Fallon. The music and the style of that advert is a massive favoutite amoungst millions so i thought i’d try replicate the effect in Flash.

But rather than having the balls firing all over tha place i’d rather the balls just returned to their original state and get new properties (speed, directiion). So here is what I finished with.

So I finally decided to set up a labs for my website. It works, this is a joy.

Over the next month or so, I will be updating my website and adding the widgets i create for work to it. Not sure I’m allowed to do that really but who cares, i need more work in my portfolio.
